It was day one back in the gym. Remember how I talked about the struggle I was having with getting back in a groove? Well, today was the day for this gal to get her butt in gear. Boy, did it hurt? Ouch! A previous article talked about planning a schedule to get a fitness routine in place. Be sure to read it. But today, I started my January fitness goals, and no, it has nothing to do with weight gain. My overall goal has zero to do with weight gain. It’s about being healthy and getting toned again. Yes, I want to be toned. It was a good look for me.
Day one was working out with hubby since we both had the day off. He had a workout all planned out for us from Keelo. An app he came across with high intensity for all. It was my first workout with this app, but it worked me out for sure.
The Reality Of Being Out Of Shape Hit Hard
As I put on my workout gear, I could see and feel the difference in my workout clothes. As soon as I walked into the bathroom and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror it hit. It hit hard, and a tear almost fell.
Yes, I see myself daily in the mirror, but it was a bit different wearing the workout gear that I once loved rocking because it showed off my back, abs, arms, and butt. Don’t say it, don’t do it. Don’t say…”OMG, you’re so skinny. You make me sick! There’s nothing wrong with your body.” Skinny folks have insecurities and flaws too. And don’t get me wrong. This gal loves her some her. But the progress achieved is now gone. I want my muscle tone back, the ability to run a couple of miles (even though I hate running), and feel great! And oh, the gear will still be rocked cause it’s super cute.
Anywho….I took a photo to track the changes in my physique. Yeah, skinny folks want and should track their body’s changes. Hopefully, we will see some changes in February, but until then let’s talk about fitness goals for this month. Skinny folks have fitness goals too!
My January Fitness Goals
- workout 4 times a week
- do 25 situps (OMG, it was a struggle just doing the warm-up)
- be able to complete the Keelo workout from today (finished, but didn’t do the progression entirely)
- knock out 50 weighted squats with 8 lb dumbbells (weighted squats burn baby)
- eat 3 meals a day and 2 healthy snacks (gotta fuel those muscles)
These are my January fitness goals. They may not seem like much to some, but they are fitness goals to kickstart my butt back in gear. Taking a break is ok, but a six-month break kicked butt. The great news is I didn’t forget the proper form, and the movements came right back — kind of like riding a bike.
What are your January fitness goals? The team at Skinny, Fit and Fabulous is cheering for you! Happy New Year!
